C.S. Sanders writes a fast paced thriller, a read that you can't put down because you need to know what happens next. If that was all he had accomplished this book would be worth the read, but inside the adventure and danger lies an even better reason to pick this book up. The core of the book is about the relationship between an estranged father and son.
Jack, the father, is a career criminal and his latest job is kidnapping foreigners and holding them for ransom, at his home base in Sevilla, Columbia. Sam a talented photojournalist and Jack's son enters Sevilla and walks right into the middle of the ranson scheme just as things start to fall apart.
As Jack's hope of a fortune unravel so does the back story of his relationship with Sam's mother and eventually his son. The characters are brilliantly written. The relationships ring true and it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page.
